What Gets Tested and Why

A typical water test covers sanitising levels (e.g. chlorine or equivalent), pH, total alkalinity, and often calcium hardness and stabiliser. Each plays a role: sanitiser keeps the water safe from bacteria and algae; pH affects comfort and how well the sanitiser works; alkalinity helps stabilise pH; and calcium hardness can affect surfaces and equipment in some pool types.

We interpret the results in the context of your pool—size, use, and equipment—and recommend the right adjustments. That might mean adding chlorine, adjusting pH or alkalinity, or addressing a specific issue like high phosphates or metals.

One-off tests are useful for troubleshooting; regular testing as part of monthly maintenance keeps everything in range so problems do not develop in the first place.
